Caring for Silk

Velvety, smooth, and stylish natural fiber fabric requires gentle care

Silk Care Instructions

Always check the label for style specific instructions - these are the best practices for caring for your garments.

1. Avoid over washing.

2. Dry clean or hand wash in cold water with mild detergent.

3. If hand washing, rinse well, do not wring out your garment – softly roll your garment in a towel to remove excess water.

4. Hang your garment to dry.

5. Iron with high heat and steam, but always have a cotton towel between the silk and the iron, iron preferably on the inside of the garment.

Composition

Silk is a natural fiber fabric derived from the thread of silk worm cocoons. These threads are ultra fine, soft, and lustrous.

How It's Made

Raw silk threads are twisted together to form yarn. The yarn is then interwoven on a loom to produce fabric.

Why We Love Silk

Silk is hypoallergenic, durable, and comfortable to wear. Silk is also breathable, maintains good thermal regulation, and is great for sensitive skin.

Environmental Impact

Natural fiber fabrics are biodegradable and generally require less manufacturing resources than synthetic fabrics. This makes natural fiber fabrics a more sustainable option.
